SCHC Spring Turkey Hunts
Hunting Eastern wild turkeys in South Carolina offers a blend of challenge and reward. At SCHC, the turkey hunting season starts early, running from March 22nd to April 30th. SCHC provides convenient access to camouflaged elevated tower ladder stands, enhancing the chances of bagging a trophy gobbler. Hunting areas include grain fields, hardwood bottoms, and pinewoods. To attract and sustain a robust turkey population, seasonal food plots of grains and chufah are planted throughout SCHC.
3-Day Turkey Hunting Fees
March 22 thru April 303-day hunt: includes food and lodging as well as harvest of one gobbler per 3-day hunt. Gobbler tag must be purchased with license thru SCDNR.
COST $1,200 (per hunter)
Deposits
Upon booking, a 50% non-refundable deposit is due within seven (7) days. The balance of your fees are due, ten (10) days prior to your scheduled hunt. Hunt dates will be held for seven (7) days pending receipt of your deposit. Cancellations are non-refundable but can be rescheduled for a later date. Certain dates have limited availability, so hunts should be booked well in advance to guarantee that your dates are open.

Seasons & Limits — Spring 2025
The spring 2024 turkey season on private lands in South Carolina runs from March 22-April 30 in Game Zones 3 and 4, which includes the lower part of the state.
Residents and Nonresidents: 2 gobblers per season, no more than one per day, no more than one (1) prior to April 10.
SCHC is located in Game Zone 3 near the town of Estill in the southern half of Hampton County.
License Requirements

A South Carolina Hunting License is not provided by SCHC and will need to be purchased prior to your scheduled hunt. Hunters are required to have a South Carolina Hunting License, Big Game Permit and Turkey Tags.

Annual Hunting License: $125
10-day License: $75
Three-day License: $40
Annual Big-game Permit: $100
Turkey Tags: $100
*Turkey Hunting licenses and tags can be obtained through South Carolina Department of Natural Resources at DNR.SC.Gov or by calling 866-714-3611. All will be mailed to you once purchased. License must be ordered at least 3 weeks prior to your hunt in order to have it with you upon arrival to lodge!
NOTE: If you are born after June 30, 1979, you must successfully complete a SCDNR-approved hunter education course and present the certificate of completion before a hunting or combination license can be obtained. SCDNR does accept hunter education certifications issued by other states in the United States and Canadian provinces.
